The UK’s telephone network is changing. Between now and 2025 most telephone providers will be moving their customers from old analogue landlines over to new upgraded landline services using digital technology.

The new network will provide a future proof, more reliable and dependable broadband service that will support the UK for decades to come.

This means services that rely on the old landline system such as phones and healthcare devices will be switched over.

The digital switchover is fast approaching and will impact on a whole range of vital services, including in adult social care.

We face the prospect of serious disruption to people’s lives, including most urgently those who use personal devices such as alarms and fall detectors to stay safe in their own homes.

For most care providers, the switchover is a great opportunity to assess their current infrastructure and compare suppliers to ensure they are getting the  best solution for their business and future proofing themselves.

In order to switch your phone line to a digital one, your provider will need to make sure your internet is capable.  Most of us will have heard of 'Superfast' broadband and will have been affected by our roads being dug up whilst the new fibre cables are bought to our area.
