Welcome to the Sussex Digital In Reach Team.

We provide a free platform on which Care Providers across Sussex can access free advice and support on technology, digitalisation and data protection. We are run by the care providers for the care providers.

We love to hear from you.  We know how busy you are.  We understand that some tasks, especially around data protection and implementing new digital technologies are time consuming and often quite daunting.

Therefore, we are here to help with free support.  As much or as little as you want or need.

We can help with:

• DSPT (Data Security and Protection Toolkit).  Not only does this ensure you have the correct policies and procedures in place to protect yourself, your company, your staff and your clients, it is also  your gateway to access NHS Mail, GP Connect, Shared Records and so much more.

• NHS Mail:  A secure NHS approved email system for sharing confidential information.

• Proxy Access: enabling you to order repeat prescriptions for your clients and book appointments

• Emar:  Electronic Medical Records (often linked to a DSCR - Digital Social Care Record).

• Funding:  Keeping you informed of and helping you to access funding as and when it becomes available.

• Upskilling:  We provide free training for you and your staff.  MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams to name a few.  Show your staff you have confidence in them and help build their skills, in turn building their confidence in technology.  Take it further and become a Digital Champion - gain the knowledge and accreditation to train your own staff courtesy of the Barclays Digital Champion programme.

• New technologies:  Although we do not recommend any suppliers or technologies, we do research and allow webinars from those suppliers that we believe could add value to your business, whilst complying with regulations.  Many technologies provide monitoring that can reduce manual checks, reduce paperwork and interact with your DSCR, improving the monitoring and reporting of care given.

• Plexus:  Coming soon!  Plexus is the shared record that we are all working towards.  This will enable safe sharing of vital information between healthcare professionals.  This will give everyone involved in the care of a person immediate access to the information they require to provide the best care.  At present, Plexus is being piloted in several care homes throughout Sussex.  It will soon be rolled out to more and we will be in touch with you  to explain what is required and what it will mean to you.  Feedback to date is very positive from the care providers who currently have access.

• Internet, WiFi & Digital Telephone Switchover:  As we embrace more digital technologies we need to make sure we have reliable internet and WiFi to enable these solutions to work effectively.  The government has committed to bringing faster internet connections to all areas, but that stops at your front door.  You need to make sure you can then convey that internet connection around your building, usually via WiFi to make sure that all of the technologies that you introduce can work effectively.
